As part of the course Global Security (lecturer: Dr. Janja Mikulan), which runs under the EU-GlobalAct module, we had the privilege of hosting inspiring guest speakers during the spring semester who helped students better understand the complex security challenges of today’s world. ππ
One of the guests was Katarina Cvikl BaliΔ from ITF – Enhancing Human Security, who primarily works in Syria and Iraq. Since its founding, ITF has been dedicated to promoting security and recovery in countries affected by armed conflict. ποΈπ οΈ
Their current projects include:
𧨠Mine action in Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina,
π₯ Support for the MDC Polyclinic in Afghanistan,
π§ Assistance in Gaza and the West Bank in the fields of rehabilitation and mental health,
π€ Support for communities in Syria, and more.
