As part of the course Global Security (lecturer: Dr. Janja Mikulan), which runs under the EU-GlobalAct module, we had the privilege of hosting inspiring guest speakers during the spring semester who helped students better understand the complex security challenges of today’s world. πŸŽ“πŸŒ

One of the guests was Katarina Cvikl BaliΔ‡ from ITF – Enhancing Human Security, who primarily works in Syria and Iraq. Since its founding, ITF has been dedicated to promoting security and recovery in countries affected by armed conflict. πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ› οΈ

Their current projects include:
🧨 Mine action in Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina,
πŸ₯ Support for the MDC Polyclinic in Afghanistan,
🧠 Assistance in Gaza and the West Bank in the fields of rehabilitation and mental health,
🀝 Support for communities in Syria, and more.
