EU-GlobalAct: Implementation and Achievements 2023–2024

On September 11, 2024, the Faculty of Applied Social Studies (FUDŠ) hosted the event EU-GlobalAct: Implementation and Achievements 2023–2024.
In the first part of the event, module leader Assoc. Prof. Dr. Janja Mikulan presented the project’s website and highlighted key events from the first year of implementation. These included a thematic section within the 16th Slovenian Social Science Conference, a panel at the Winter Camp, workshops, guest lectures, and a visit to the Muslim Cultural Center.
The second part focused on the pedagogical aspects of the module. Dr. Janja Mikulan introduced the work carried out within the Global Security course, while Assist. Manca Koren and Assist. Nejc Gajšek presented the dynamics of the courses Challenges of Globalization and Participation and Help in the Community, respectively.
The event was further enriched by student presentations from those who actively participated in the module during the 2023/24 academic year. Gordana Štimac (Global Security) discussed The Role of the EU in Relations with Russia and Ukraine; Mia Kenig (Challenges of Globalization) explored The Metaphor of the House of Modernity in the Context of Global Justice; and Sara Kuzma (Participation and Help in the Community) shared her experience with volunteer work, with a special emphasis on trauma.
